Shelbi, a proud daughter of a Marine veteran and a hardworking mother, was raised with a strong work ethic and a passion for education and community.
Living in Miamisburg since 2011, her family is deeply rooted in the community. Her children are the 5th generation of Nunerys to call Miamisburg home.
Her daughter plays volleyball at the YMCA, her eldest son is in middle school band, and her youngest attends preschool at Maddux-Lang. Her stepson, a 2019 Miamisburg alumnus, is graduating from the University of Cincinnati. Shelbi's husband, Max, is a nurse and local musician with the band The Shady Pine.
She began her career in education 10 years ago as an interpreter for Deaf students before transitioning to teaching high school American Sign Language (ASL). She holds a master's degree in Educational Leadership and works closely with students, parents, and staff. As a mother of three Miamisburg students—two with IEPs—she understands the daily realities families face and is committed to advocating for special education and inclusive practices.
She is an active community advocate, regularly attending school board meetings and fostering relationships with administrators. Her leadership background equips her to unite educators, families, and board members in making thoughtful decisions.
Shelbi's goal is simple: to ensure all students have access to quality education, fair and accessible resources, and a safe, supportive learning environment. She is dedicated to working alongside fellow board members to build a stronger, more united district.
